How to Clear the Spotify Cache
Free up storage by clearing the Spotify cache on iPhone, Android, and desktop without losing downloaded music, playlists, or your login, plus a reinstall fix.

Spotify keeps a cache of recently streamed audio and artwork so songs start faster. It can grow to several gigabytes. Clearing it removes only that temporary data, nothing you saved on purpose.
Open Storage in Settings
In the Spotify app, tap your profile picture at the top left, then Settings and privacy, then Storage. On some versions the section is inside Data-saving and offline. The screen shows how much space the cache and your downloads each use.
Tap Clear cache
Tap Clear cache and confirm. Cached audio and images are deleted at once. Your downloads, playlists, liked songs, and login stay in place, and you do not have to sign in again.
Remove downloads separately if you need more space
On the same Storage screen, tap Remove all downloads to delete every downloaded playlist, album, and podcast on this device. To remove just one playlist, open it and tap its green download arrow to switch the download off. Downloads are a Premium feature and can be added again at any time.
Reinstall on iPhone if the number does not drop
iOS sometimes reports Spotify using far more space than the app admits to. Open the iPhone Settings, General, iPhone Storage, and tap Spotify. Choose Delete App, then reinstall it from the App Store and log in. This wipes the cache and the downloads, so download again afterward. Offload App keeps the app's data, so it does not clear the cache.
On desktop. Click your profile picture, Settings, and scroll to Storage. Click Clear cache. The same section shows where the cache and downloads are kept; click Change location to move that offline storage folder to another drive if your main one is full.
The cache comes back. Spotify starts filling it again as soon as you stream, so clearing it is a one-time cleanup rather than a permanent setting. It never deletes playlists, liked songs, or downloads.
