How to View Saved Passwords in Chrome

You need a password Chrome has been filling in for you, to type it on another device or to move it into a password manager. Chrome stores them in Google Password Manager, and any entry can be revealed after you confirm your identity.

Open Google Password Manager

Click the three-dot menu at the top right, then Settings, then Autofill and passwords, then Google Password Manager. Or paste this into the address bar:

Find the site

The page lists every site with a saved login. Use the search box at the top to filter by site name or username, then click the entry to open it.

Click the eye icon and authenticate

Next to the hidden password, click the eye icon. Chrome asks you to confirm it is you using your computer's own login: your Windows password or Windows Hello on Windows, your Mac password or Touch ID on macOS. Once you pass, the password shows in plain text. The copy button next to it puts the password on the clipboard without displaying it, which is the better choice if someone can see your screen.

Export the whole list if you need it

To move everything to another password manager, click Settings in the left sidebar of Password Manager, then click Export passwords and confirm with the same identity check. Chrome writes a CSV file to the location you choose.

That CSV is plain text. Anyone who opens it can read every username and password in it. Import it into the other manager right away, then delete the file and empty the trash.

From any device. If Chrome is syncing passwords to your Google account, the same list is available at passwords.google.com when you sign in there, including on a phone or on a computer that does not have Chrome installed.

If the eye icon does nothing. Chrome requires a password or biometric on your computer account to reveal passwords. On a machine with no login password set, add one in the operating system's user settings, then try again.
