How to Block a Channel on YouTube
Keep a YouTube channel out of your recommendations and stop its owner from commenting on your videos, using the controls on the website and in the app.
YouTube has no single button that fully blocks a channel. It offers two separate controls: one keeps a channel out of your recommendations, and the other hides a channel owner's comments from your videos. Use both for the closest thing to a block.
Remove the channel from your recommendations
On the Home feed, find a video from the channel. Click the three-dot menu on the video thumbnail and choose Don't recommend channel. In the phone app, tap the three-dot menu next to the video title and tap Don't recommend channel. YouTube stops suggesting that channel on Home and in Up next. Its videos still appear in search results and on the channel page.
Undo it if needed
Right after choosing Don't recommend channel, an Undo link appears at the bottom of the screen. Later, go to myactivity.google.com, open YouTube History, and look under the other YouTube activity section, where channels you chose not to see are listed and can be removed.
Block the channel owner from commenting on your videos
Open the channel's page. On the website, open the About panel, click the flag icon, and choose Block user. In the phone app, tap the three-dot menu at the top right of the channel page and tap Block user. Confirm. The blocked account's comments no longer appear under your videos or in your live chats. They can still watch your videos, and you can still watch theirs.
Hide a commenter from a comment instead
If the person has already commented on one of your videos, click the three-dot menu on that comment and choose Hide user from channel. This has the same effect as Block user. Review or reverse it in YouTube Studio under Settings, Community, Hidden users.
Restricted Mode. Click your profile picture and turn on Restricted Mode to filter out potentially mature videos across the whole site. It is not channel specific, and it does not hide a particular channel.
For kids. The YouTube Kids app allows real blocking. Tap the three-dot menu on a video and choose Block, then confirm with your parent passcode. Blocked channels disappear from that child's app entirely.
