Someone in the household is moving out and wants to keep their Netflix recommendations, watch history, and My List on their own account. Profile Transfer copies a profile to a new or existing account. The account owner turns the feature on first, then the profile owner runs the transfer.
Turn on Profile Transfer as the account owner
Go to netflix.com/account in a browser and sign in. Under Settings (on some layouts the option is listed directly on the account page), click Turn on profile transfer, then confirm. Netflix emails the account owner, and the feature becomes active 2 days later.
Open the profile you want to move
After the waiting period, sign in to the original account on any device. In a browser, hover over your profile icon in the top right and click Transfer Profile. In the mobile app, tap My Netflix, the menu icon, then Transfer Profile. On a TV, choose the profile on the who's-watching screen and look for Transfer Profile in its options.
Choose a new or existing account
Click Next. Pick Start a new membership to create a fresh account, or Existing account to add the profile to one that already exists. For a new account, enter an email address and password and pick a plan; for an existing one, sign in to it.
Confirm the transfer
Review the summary and click Transfer Profile. The profile appears on the destination account with its recommendations, viewing history, saved games, My List, and settings. The copy on the original account stays until someone deletes it.
Sign in on your own devices
Sign out of the old account on your phone, TV, and other devices and sign in to the destination account. Pick the transferred profile and check that Continue Watching and My List look right.
Payment is not transferred. A new account needs its own payment method and starts its own billing. Transferring a profile into an existing account adds it to that account's current plan and counts against its profile limit.
Some profiles cannot be moved. Kids profiles cannot be transferred, and the feature is not offered in some regions. If Turn on profile transfer is missing from the account page, Profile Transfer is not available on that account.
