How to Share an iPhone Album with People Who Do Not Use iCloud

An iCloud Shared Album can be published as a public web page, so friends and family on Android or Windows can open the photos in any browser. They do not need an Apple Account, and you can keep adding photos after sending the link.

Turn on Shared Albums

Open Settings, Apps, Photos (on iOS 17 and earlier, Settings, Photos) and turn on Shared Albums. Skip this step if the toggle is already on.

Create a new shared album

Open Photos and go to Albums. On iOS 18, scroll down to the Albums section on the main screen. Tap the + button, choose New Shared Album, type a name, and tap Next. You can add people with Apple Accounts here, or leave the field blank. Tap Create.

Turn on Public Website and share the link

Open the new album under Shared Albums. Tap the people icon at the top of the screen, then turn on Public Website. A Share Link option appears. Tap it and send the link through Messages, Mail, WhatsApp, or anything else in the share sheet. Anyone who opens the link sees the album on icloud.com in a browser, with no sign-in.

Add photos to the album

Select photos in your library, tap the share button, and choose Add to Shared Album. Pick the album and tap Post. You can also open the album and tap + to choose photos from inside it. New photos show up on the web page automatically, so the link you already sent keeps working.

If they need full-resolution originals. Shared Albums shrink what you post: photos are stored at up to 2048 pixels on the long edge and videos at up to 720p. For originals, share a Google Photos album link, or put the files in a shared Google Drive or iCloud Drive folder set to Anyone with the link and send that instead.

If you want other people to add their own photos. Turn on Subscribers Can Post on the same screen as Public Website. That applies only to people you invited with an Apple Account; visitors who open the public link can view and save photos but cannot add any.
