How to Block Someone on Instagram
Block an Instagram account from their profile, choose whether to block new accounts they create too, and manage or undo blocks from Settings and activity.

Blocking stops an account from finding your profile, seeing your posts and Stories, or messaging you. They are not told. You can block from the person's profile and undo it later from your settings.
Open their profile
Open the Instagram app and go to the profile of the account you want to block. Search for the username, or tap their name from a comment, a message, or your followers list.
Open the three-dot menu
Tap the three dots in the top right corner of their profile.
Tap Block
Tap Block in the menu that slides up.
Choose how much to block
Instagram shows two options. The first blocks this account and any other accounts the person may have or create later, and it is selected by default. The second blocks only this one account. Pick one, then tap Block. Tap Dismiss on the confirmation.
Block from a message if needed
If the person is messaging you, open the conversation, tap their name at the top, and tap Block. The same two options appear. Blocking also removes the conversation from your inbox.
Manage your blocked list
To see everyone you have blocked, go to your profile, tap the three horizontal lines, tap Settings and activity, then tap Blocked under How others can interact with you. Tap Unblock next to a name to undo it. Unblocking does not restore the follow in either direction; you both have to follow again.
What they see. Blocked people are not notified. When they try to open your profile, it shows no posts and the follow button does nothing. Your comments and likes vanish from their view of shared posts, and the message thread disappears for them too. They can still see comments you leave on other people's public posts, and mutual friends can still mention you both in the same thread.
On the website. Open the person's profile on instagram.com, click the three dots next to their username, and click Block. The blocked list is under More, Settings, Blocked.
