Your Drive is full of files called "Copy of Copy of Copy of Budget". Every duplicate Drive makes is named "Copy of" plus the current name, so if each new version is copied from the last one, the prefix stacks. It is the default name, not a bug, and it goes away when you name the file at the moment you copy it and copy from a clean master instead of the last copy.
Name the file in the Make a copy dialog
Open the file in Docs, Sheets, or Slides and choose File, Make a copy. The name field at the top of the dialog is prefilled with "Copy of" and is editable. Type the name you want, choose the folder, then click Make a copy. The file is created with that name and no prefix.
Rename the copies you already have
In Drive, right-click the file and choose Rename, or open the file and click its title at the top left. Drive has no batch rename, so for dozens of files use Drive for desktop: select the files in Finder or File Explorer and use the batch rename built into those programs to strip the prefix.
Keep one clean master for anything you reuse
If a file is a starting point for weekly reports, proposals, or invoices, keep a single master in its own folder and copy from that master every time. Copying the most recent report instead of the master is how "Copy of Copy of" starts. Give the master a name that says what it is so nobody edits it by mistake.
Submit the master to the template gallery on Workspace
On a Google Workspace account, open the Docs, Sheets, or Slides home page, click Template gallery, open your organization's tab, and click Submit template. Each use of the template creates a fresh file named after the template, with no prefix and no changes from the last person who used it. An admin may have restricted who can submit templates; if the button is missing, ask.
If you duplicate in Finder or File Explorer. Drive for desktop follows the operating system's naming instead: "Budget copy" on a Mac, "Budget - Copy" on Windows. Those names sync to Drive as they are.
If the copy is already shared. Renaming does not break links or sharing, and everyone with access sees the new name.
